Overview
- Internal NYPD orders show Inspector Jeremy Scheublin was placed on administrative suspension on Tuesday after he filed for retirement in June.
- A female officer sued in Bronx Supreme Court alleging that on Jan. 1, 2025 Scheublin called her to his office, groped and slammed her onto a couch, tried to force a kiss and said he wanted to “make biracial babies,” and that she fought him off because she feared he could rape her while armed.
- The officer says she reported the attack to Internal Affairs before filing the civil suit and that Scheublin was later stripped of his gun and shield but remained on duty until this week, which her lawyer says amounted to continued exposure to a supervisor she feared.
- Scheublin’s lawyer denies the allegations and says he retired to address what he calls false claims, while the Captains Endowment Association declined to comment.
- The lawsuit says the matter was referred for criminal investigation but the Bronx District Attorney’s Office and the NYPD have not publicly confirmed any prosecutorial steps and retirement filings do not automatically end administrative or criminal probes.
