Overview
- New York City’s multi-day Earth Day program runs through Saturday, April 25, when more than 50 streets across all five boroughs will close to cars for DOT’s citywide event with activities from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Key corridors slated to open for people include Broadway from 17th to 46th streets, St. Nicholas Avenue from 181st to 185th streets, Dyckman Street to Inwood Hill Park, Fifth Avenue in Brooklyn from 41st to 45th streets, Woodside Avenue in Queens from 75th to 78th streets, East 188th Street in the Bronx, and Port Richmond Avenue on Staten Island.

- Saturday’s lineup features Brooklyn Bridge Park’s waterfront program from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., an Earth Day fair at Imani II Community Garden, and a free clothing swap at McCarren Park hosted by second-hand group Jem Hunts.
- The week’s lead-in includes neighborhood events such as a children’s Earth Day storytime in Brownsville and a guided bike tour at Shirley Chisholm State Park, with some activities requiring RSVP or subject to weather changes.
