Overview
- Officials set NJ Transit round-trip tickets to the New Jersey–New York Stadium at $98 and the NYNJ host-committee shuttle at $20, with 20% of shuttle seats reserved for New York residents.
- The rollbacks follow heavy criticism of the original prices, which were $150 for the special train service and $80 for the official shuttle.
- Gov. Mikie Sherrill credited sponsors including DoorDash, Audible, FanDuel, DraftKings, PSE&G, South Jersey Industries and American Water, while New York added $6 million and promised $60 refunds to fans who bought shuttle tickets at the old price.
- Capacity remains constrained, with 40,000 rail seats available per match, shuttle capacity expanded to as many as 18,000 seats on several match days, and no general parking at MetLife Stadium.
- Even after the cuts, the $98 train fare is about eight times the usual $12.90 round trip, and NJ Transit says moving fans during the tournament will cost about $62 million with only $14 million covered by grants.
