- Nvidia formally donated and commissioned a DGX GB300 system at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey during a July 22–23 event attended by CEO Jensen Huang and Adm. Samuel Paparo.
- The machine is built on GB300 'Grace Blackwell' servers and officials say it combines 36 Nvidia Grace CPUs with 72 Blackwell Ultra GPUs to support large AI model training and inference.
- Systems partners DDN, VAST Data and Vertiv delivered storage, unified data management and racks, cooling and power so the supercomputer could be brought online within NPS infrastructure.
- NPS will provide managed access to students and faculty as it folds the system into courses and applied research on weather prediction, cybersecurity, logistics and digital twins.
- The deployment is the first reported direct use of Nvidia’s top‑end GB300 servers by the U.S. military and could accelerate industry‑military collaboration and operational AI research to watch for next.
