Nuki Keypad 2 NFC Brings Tap-to-Unlock From Apple and Samsung to Its Smart Locks

The launch pushes open, wallet-based door access toward broader cross-platform use.

Overview

  • The Aliro-certified Keypad 2 NFC lets iPhone and Galaxy users tap a phone or watch to unlock compatible Nuki smart locks.
  • It offers Smart Home Mode for Apple Home and Samsung SmartThings through Matter with a required Apple or SmartThings Thread hub, or Nuki App Mode that uses NFC through the Nuki app.
  • The keypad is NFC-only, so it does not support UWB hands-free auto-unlock that full-replacement models like Aqara’s U400 provide.
  • Nuki says both Apple Home Key and Samsung Digital Home Key can work when Apple Home is paired first, and it is working with wallet providers to improve that interoperability.
  • It is available now for $179 and adds fingerprint and PIN entry while keeping the option to use your physical key.
