Nuevo Paraíso Mod Brings RDR1’s Mexico Back to Red Dead 2 on September 16

Built to fit Red Dead Redemption 2’s 1907 setting, the fan expansion promises new towns, missions, characters and wildlife for PC players.

Overview

  • Modder Rixus724 published a trailer and confirmed the mod will be released for free on Nexus Mods with a launch date of September 16, 2026.
  • Nuevo Paraíso aims to recreate the Mexican state from Red Dead Redemption 1 and adapt it to RDR2’s 1907 timeline so locations and events match the base game’s period.
  • The expansion promises new settlements, hidden locations, NPCs, wildlife, gang hideouts, train robberies, shops, mysteries and Easter eggs to create a living frontier.
  • The trailer shows cameos from established RDR characters such as John Marston and Sadie Adler and coverage notes possible limits on voice fidelity and unofficial character portrayals.
  • The mod is an unofficial, PC-only project that will require players’ own copy of Red Dead Redemption 2 and community mod tools commonly used for RDR2; Rockstar Games has not endorsed it.
