Nubank Names Ex‑Visa Executive Rob Livingston as Global CFO

Nubank seeks to centralize financial oversight under a U.S.-based CFO to support its planned bank in the United States.

Overview

  • Nubank announced that Rob Livingston will become its global chief financial officer on July 13, 2026, replacing Guilherme Lago in the role.
  • Guilherme Lago will move into a special-adviser position to the board and to audit and risk committees after serving as CFO since 2019 and helping lead the company’s 2021 NYSE IPO.
  • The new CFO will be based in the United States and will supervise finance leaders across Nubank’s operating countries while the company creates a separate, yet-to-be-filled CFO role for Brazil.
  • Investors reacted negatively to the change, with Nubank shares falling as much as about 10% on the day of the announcement and Bank of America cutting its stock recommendation over concerns about credit trends in Brazil and execution of international growth.
  • Rob Livingston brings more than 30 years in financial services, including senior finance roles at Visa and Capital One, and his appointment follows Nubank’s conditional regulatory approval earlier this year to establish a U.S. bank and the company’s push to scale beyond Latin America.
