Overview
- The National Testing Agency announced on May 20 that the last date to submit UGC‑NET June 2026 applications has been pushed from May 20 to May 23 with a 10:00 AM cutoff for form submission.
- Fee payments were also extended to May 23 with a 11:50 PM deadline so applications with pending payments will be accepted through that time.
- The correction window for editing submitted forms was moved from the earlier May 22–24 slot to May 25–27 with changes allowed until 11:50 PM on the final day.
- Candidates must apply through the official UGC‑NET portal and use DigiLocker authentication if required; the published fee structure remains Rs 1,150 for General, Rs 600 for General‑EWS/OBC‑NCL, and Rs 325 for SC/ST/Divyang/Third Gender.
- The short extension aims to ease technical and payment hurdles for applicants and preserve access to the exam that determines JRF eligibility, Assistant Professor appointments, and PhD admission, while the exam itself stays scheduled for June 22–30 with city slips by June 10 and admit cards by June 15.
