NSW Offers $1 Million Reward in 2003 Harmony Bryant Homicide Probe

Investigators hope the larger bounty prompts someone to identify a long-sought second person linked to a two-person caravan booking.

Overview

  • NSW Police and the state government announced a $1 million reward for information in the death of 26-year-old Harmony Bryant to generate new leads in the open homicide investigation.
  • Bryant was found critically injured in bushland near Bonny Hills in August 2003, where her Hyundai was found burning about 200 metres from the road, and she died on September 19.
  • Police say evidence indicates she fell from a nearby cliff and that at least one unknown person helped her back to the car.
  • Detectives say she booked accommodation for two at the Mid Pacific Caravan Park the day before she was found, and the second person has never been identified.
  • A 2011 inquest found her burns were inflicted by person or persons unknown, cited missed chances in the first 48 hours, and referred the case to the Homicide Squad, where it remains with no charges.
