Overview
- NS&I, which released April’s draw on Thursday, named two new £1 million winners from Hampshire & Isle of Wight and Surrey, with results now live in the prize checker.
- From this month the prize fund rate drops to 3.3% and the odds per £1 bond lengthen to 23,000 to 1 from 22,000 to 1, so fewer larger prizes and more small ones are expected.
- In total, 5,951,866 prizes worth £376,455,425 will be paid in the April draw, according to NS&I.
- NS&I is running a remediation program after failures to trace accounts for deceased customers affected about £470 million and 37,500 cases, with the government pledging compensation where appropriate and Sir Jim Harra installed as interim chief.
- Over 2.7 million prizes worth more than £118 million remain unclaimed, so savers are urged to use the app or website and choose payout or auto‑reinvest to avoid missing winnings.
