Overview
- Mercedes and McLaren will run at the Nürburgring on April 14–15 in a two-day Pirelli tyre test, the circuit’s first F1 running there since the 2020 Eifel Grand Prix.
- Each team is expected to field its race lineup, with George Russell and Kimi Antonelli for Mercedes and Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri for McLaren.
- Pirelli will control the programme with prescribed run plans and undisclosed compounds, and the test data will remain with the tyre supplier rather than the teams.
- Pirelli has not said whether it will run a wet or dry programme at the Nürburgring after previously planning an artificially wet Bahrain test that was cancelled for security reasons.
- Ferrari is also conducting a Pirelli tyre test at its Fiorano track during the April break, with Lewis Hamilton on track Thursday before racing resumes at the Miami Grand Prix on May 3.
