NPS Says Fan Calls Over Heeseung’s ENHYPEN Exit Temporarily Paralyzed Support Center

The pension fund highlights its passive role as a long-term shareholder with no say in corporate personnel decisions.

Overview

  • On March 18, NPS chief Kim Sung-joo said a surge of overseas calls and about 1,500 emails in roughly two hours temporarily shut down its International Pension Support Center.
  • The affected center serves foreign workers in Korea and Koreans abroad, and routine pension inquiries were significantly disrupted.
  • Posts on X circulated the support center’s hotline and urged complaints over Heeseung’s departure, citing the fund’s stake in HYBE.
  • NPS reiterated that it is a long-term investor and does not intervene in company management or K-pop group member decisions, and it asked fans to stop contacting the hotline.
  • NPS holds about 7.5% of HYBE, reported as the third-largest stake, while BELIFT LAB has maintained that Heeseung will not return to ENHYPEN.
