Norwegian Palace Says Mette‑Marit’s Deleted Epstein Email Account Cannot Be Restored

The failed recovery leaves a permanent gap in the record of her 2011–2014 contacts with Jeffrey Epstein.

Overview

  • Court communications staff, which disclosed Friday it had sought a technical recovery, said the provider confirmed the account and its contents are unrecoverable.
  • The address was a private broadpark.no account run by NextGenTel that the palace says was used roughly 12 to 15 years ago.
  • The palace declined to say when or why the account was deleted, citing security, which keeps key details about the loss out of public view.
  • Have I Been Pwned shows the account’s password was exposed in a July 2012 Dropbox breach while she was still corresponding with Epstein.
  • Parts of the exchange are already public through U.S. Justice Department releases, including friendly emails and a four‑day stay at Epstein’s Palm Beach house, and Mette‑Marit has said she wishes she could read the rest.
