Northern States Move Into Rabi MSP Procurement as Punjab Starts April 1 and MP Shifts to Mid-April

  • Uttar Pradesh, which opened wheat buying on Monday, has 3,574 centres running, a higher MSP of Rs 2,585 per quintal, a 50 lakh metric tonne target, and promises DBT payments within 48 hours.

  • UP will also buy gram, lentil, mustard and tur at MSP from April 2 to June 30 at Aadhaar-enabled centres, with set targets and payments sent directly to farmers’ bank accounts.
