Northeast Task Force Moves to Finalize Connectivity Roadmap, Puts Kaladan Project at the Forefront
A near-final report will set phased steps to connect the Northeast to Southeast Asian markets under the Act East policy.

- The High-Level Task Force met virtually on December 22 for its third review to evaluate ongoing works and accelerate inter-state connectivity across all eight Northeastern states.
- DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha and Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma participated along with senior officials.
- Saha presented an integrated strategy to develop logistics hubs, expand freight rail and upgrade energy and digital networks to position the region as a gateway to the Bay of Bengal and ASEAN.
- Lalduhoma called for early completion of the Kaladan link, a National Highway up to Zorinpui, stronger connectivity via Zokhawthar and a rail extension beyond Sairang in Mizoram.
- Officials said the Task Force is close to finalising a report detailing short-, medium- and long-term actions for the North East Economic Corridor.
