Overview
- Northeast Frontier Railway has dedicated the new Maligaon cultural ground as the Zubeen Garg Railway Bihutoli in tribute to the late singer-composer.
- The venue will host Rongali Bihu celebrations from April 14 to 17, organized by Pandu Bihu Sanmilani in Maligaon.
- The all-weather ground includes a permanent stage, a dining hall, a toilet complex, a community space, and a boundary wall.
- A pre-Bihu opening featured NFR general manager Chetan Kumar Shrivastava and Zubeen Garg’s sister, Palmee Borthakur, who thanked the railway for the honor.
- A Bihutoli is a community ground for Assam’s Bihu festivals, and the naming follows Garg’s death in Singapore last year.
