- On July 19 a shirtless man walked through a North Las Vegas neighborhood firing an AR-15-style rifle at houses and banging on a front door, homeowner surveillance and 911 calls show.
- Officers who arrived encountered the suspect on the street, say he resisted and grabbed an officer’s department rifle, and officers used a Taser at least twice and a baton before handcuffing him.
- After being restrained officers found the man bleeding from the head and unresponsive, performed CPR and used an AED, administered naloxone, and he was pronounced dead at University Medical Center at about 12:57 p.m.
- The North Las Vegas Police Department released body-worn camera video, home surveillance footage and a 911 call and the Clark County coroner identified the deceased as Daniel Lujan Jr., 39, while the official cause of death remains pending.
