Norris and Rossi to Headline Goodwood as McLaren Brings Senna MP4/8B Back

The festival showcases championship-winning machinery, on-hill runs and a Friday Balcony Moment that puts top drivers in front of fans.

Overview

  • McLaren and Goodwood confirmed on Thursday that Formula 1 champion Lando Norris and MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi will attend the Goodwood Festival of Speed from July 9–12 and share a Balcony Moment on July 10.
  • McLaren published a detailed programme showing four cars will run the hill: the current MCL60 plus the 1993 MP4/8, the rarely seen 1993 MP4/8B and the 1976 M23.
  • The team named a driving roster that includes Norris, reserve driver Leonardo Fornaroli and guest drivers Bruno Senna and Rob Garofall with Norris due to drive the MCL60 on Saturday to mark McLaren’s recent championship success.
  • McLaren says the MP4/8B will be shown to the public for the first time since September 1993, making its Goodwood appearance a rare chance to see Ayrton Senna’s final McLaren in person.
  • Goodwood’s mix of crossover stars and running heritage cars turns the event into both a fan-facing celebration of McLaren’s recent titles and a showcase that could boost archive interest and media coverage of historic F1 machinery.
