No Rest for the Wicked Delayed to March 2027

Moon Studios says extensive playtesting showed the game needs more time to improve performance, refine its new class system, complete broader polish, run additional player tests before a March 2027 1.0

Overview

  • Moon Studios announced the delay on Tuesday after moving the planned full release out of October 2026 and into March 2027 to buy extra development time.
  • CEO Thomas Mahler said internal playtesting showed the build was “not quite there yet,” and the studio specifically wants to improve gameplay performance, tighten the class system, and reduce bugs before 1.0.
  • The studio will hold more closed tests and run an open beta in December 2026 to gather player feedback, with PlayStation 5 pre-orders scheduled to open in January 2027.
  • When 1.0 arrives it will first launch on PC via Steam and PlayStation 5, while Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2 versions will follow on dates the studio has not yet confirmed.
  • No Rest for the Wicked has been in PC Early Access since April 2024, has sold strongly in that period with around a million copies and tens of thousands of reviews, and Moon Studios extended its Founders Pack eligibility to purchases made before January 1, 2027 to compensate early buyers.
