NKU Student Murry Foust Found Dead in Wilder

The discovery ends weeks of searching with the coroner set to determine cause and manner of death.

Overview

  • An independently organized volunteer search party located 22-year-old Murry (Alexis) Foust’s body near 1 Steel Plant Road in Wilder, Kentucky, according to police.
  • The finding, announced Sunday, closes a multi-week effort that used volunteers, EquuSearch Midwest, K9 teams, drones with thermal and color detection, and water-rescue units to search several square miles and nearby waterways.
  • Covington and Wilder police said there are currently no indications of foul play and that the Campbell County coroner will issue the official cause and manner of death after an autopsy.
  • Northern Kentucky University called Foust’s death a profound loss, offered around-the-clock counseling for students, and said the family has asked for privacy while investigators continue their work.
  • Foust was a 22-year-old senior who was due to graduate in early May and who friends said was a transgender man early in transition, and the case has prompted widespread community involvement and questions that remain as officials complete the investigation.
