Overview
- Nissan unveiled the Tekton on Thursday, July 9, opened bookings the same day, and plans to begin customer deliveries from July 20 with ex-showroom prices from ₹10.49 lakh to ₹18.59 lakh.
- The Tekton is a Nissan‑styled sibling of the Renault Duster that shares the Alliance’s CMF‑B architecture and safety kit and inherits a five‑star Bharat NCAP score of 30.49/32 for adult protection and 45/49 for child protection.
- The model is offered only with two turbo‑petrol engines at launch: a 1.0‑litre three‑cylinder (99–100 PS, 166 Nm) with a 6‑speed manual and a 1.3‑litre four‑cylinder (161–163 PS, 280 Nm) with 6‑MT or 6‑DCT; the Renault 1.8‑litre strong hybrid is not included.
- Higher trims come well equipped with a 10.1‑inch infotainment system with Google built‑in, a 10.25‑inch digital cluster, Level‑2 ADAS, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, a 360° camera and six airbags.
- Nissan will build the Tekton in Chennai for domestic sale and exports to markets such as the Middle East and South Africa, a move that aims to strengthen Nissan’s India lineup and global production leverage in a crowded midsize SUV market.
