Nintendo Adds Two New Knockout Tour Routes to Mario Kart World

Released June 30, the free update brings Photo Mode stickers, gameplay buffs, extensive bug fixes, plus a pledge of more Knockout Tour routes.

Overview

  • Nintendo released version 1.7.0 for Mario Kart World on June 30, 2026, as a free patch that aims to refresh the game with new route groupings, photo features and stability fixes.
  • The update adds two Knockout Tour rallies — Drill Rally (Wario Shipyard to Bowser’s Castle) and Boomerang Rally (Salty Salty Speedway to Whistlestop Summit) — and they unlock after a player clears at least one Knockout Tour rally.
  • These new rallies reuse existing circuits arranged into new sequences rather than introducing any brand‑new individual tracks.
  • Photo Mode now supports collectible stickers that players can place and combine with frames using touch or Joy‑Con mouse controls, expanding in‑game creative options.
  • Version 1.7.0 also applies targeted gameplay adjustments (raised acceleration for low‑accel characters, raised gliding speed for some fast racers, quicker hop after certain hits) and fixes many bugs including incorrect Time Trials finish times and course collision/fall‑through issues.
