Nintendo Adds Super Mario Galaxy Content and GameShare to Mario Tennis Fever

The 1.1.0 patch adds new hazard mechanics, online GameChat share play, and a wide balance pass to change how matches play and who can join them.

Overview

  • Nintendo released version 1.1.0 for Mario Tennis Fever on July 16, adding Super Mario Galaxy-themed content including the new Galaxy Court and a dedicated Galaxy Court Special Match.
  • The Galaxy Court sits on a planetoid with slower ball speed and higher bounce and its Special Match introduces Prankster Comets that alter match conditions during play.
  • A new Black Hole Fever Racket spawns a black hole where a Fever Shot lands that pulls nearby players, drains HP, and can knock players out if their HP reaches zero.
  • The update adds Play via GameChat (Online GameShare), which lets friends who do not own the game join matches and supports both swing and button controls and Mix It Up mode.
  • Nintendo applied a sweeping balance pass that changes character and Fever Racket specs and makes Star Shots easier to execute, a move aimed at addressing earlier reports of imbalance and thin single-player content.
