Nike Sets Oct. 1 Release for Caitlin Clark’s First Signature Shoe

Nike is driving demand through staged colorway drops, locker-room gifting, social teasers, limited retailer releases.

Overview

  • Nike confirmed on Sept. 17 that the Nike Caitlin 1 will go on sale Oct. 1 with the adult version priced at $140 and graded kid sizes listed at $100 and $90.
  • The shoe was developed with Clark to suit her quick step-back game and features Nike Air Zoom Turbo in the forefoot, Cushlon foam in the midsole, and personal branding such as her initials and jersey number.
  • Nike lists the initial 'Caitlin Blue' on its site and plans multiple colorways over the coming months, with an earlier, reported China release set for Sept. 24 and global retail through Nike.com and select basketball retailers on Oct. 1.
  • Clark previewed an unreleased all-black colorway on social media and handed unreleased pairs to teammates after returning from international play, driving strong fan reaction online.
  • Nike’s rollout—using player-exclusive drops, targeted gifting and pop-up promotion—is aimed at boosting visibility for women’s basketball merchandise and may increase short-term resale demand and long-term retail interest.
