Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds Start Low-Key Studio Sessions for Possible New Record
A brief post on Cave’s Red Hand Files blog frames the work as exploratory with no album plan in place.
Overview
- Cave told fans on his Red Hand Files site that he was heading to an Islington studio to “mess around” on new ideas.
- He said Martyn P. Casey, Thomas Wydler, Jim Sclavunos and Warren Ellis would join him, and he noted that Casey and Wydler are well.
- He called it a “vague idea” of perhaps making a record, which means there is no recording schedule or release to announce.
- The group, whose last album Wild God arrived in 2024, has summer dates including a homecoming at Brighton’s Preston Park and major European festivals.
- Recent side work includes Cave’s guest spot on Flea’s solo album and a new recording of Red Right Hand for Peaky Blinders, with a Conway Savage anthology due July 17.
