Overview
- The NIA, which conducted coordinated searches on Tuesday, carried out raids at 18 locations across nine districts in Punjab and Haryana and seized multiple digital devices and documents.
- Investigators said the operation ties into probes of three attacks linked to Bhatti: a March 2025 grenade attack in Jalandhar, a November 2025 explosion at Sirsa’s Women Police Station, and a January 2026 car-bomb blast at Ambala’s Baldev Nagar police station.
- Teams searched a Kulana village residence belonging to Yadvinder Singh, examined mobile phones and call records, and summoned him to the NIA office in Chandigarh on June 15 after he acknowledged contact with Bhatti about two years ago.
- All material seized during the searches has been sent for forensic and technical examination as the agency issues notices to individuals and traces communications and financial transactions linked to the alleged network.
- If forensic results link Indian contacts to Bhatti, investigators could file further charges and make arrests, which would expand prosecutions and clarify how the NIA maps transnational terror and criminal networks.
