- The NFL announced Tuesday that defensive end Charles Snowden has been suspended for the first three games of the 2026 regular season under the league’s personal conduct policy.
- The suspension stems from a Dec. 2024 Las Vegas DUI arrest in which police say Snowden was found in a running SUV with blood-alcohol readings of about .18–.19 and from which he entered a no-contest plea in January that included a fine and required classes.
- Per the league statement, Snowden may take part in training camp and all preseason games but will be placed on the reserve/suspended list when teams trim rosters to 53 players, at which point the ban begins.
- His absence will remove a depth piece from Dallas’ revamped edge-rush group for Weeks 1–3 — the Cowboys open at the Giants, host the Commanders and then play the Ravens in Week 3 — increasing reliance on starters like Rashan Gary and Donovan Ezeiruaku and on rookie options.
- Snowden signed with Dallas on June 18 to a one-year deal after being waived by the Raiders and arrives with 33 career games, roughly 67 tackles and 4.5 sacks, while the league’s move follows its standard practice of multi-game discipline for similar DUI-related offenses.
