NFL Says It Will Not Discipline Stefon Diggs

The league closed its personal conduct review after finding insufficient evidence which clears a major obstacle to Diggs signing with a team.

  • The NFL notified Stefon Diggs on Friday that it concluded its investigation and found insufficient evidence to support a personal conduct policy violation, so no league discipline will be imposed.
  • A jury in Dedham District Court had acquitted Diggs on May 5 of felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault and battery, and the league’s decision follows that criminal verdict.
  • Diggs remains an unsigned free agent and outlets say his market is likely to accelerate now that teams no longer face the risk of a league suspension when considering him.
  • The New England Patriots released Diggs in March for salary reasons and have since added A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs, making a Patriots reunion unlikely though not formally ruled out by the club.
