NFL Releases Full 2026 Preseason Schedule With Expanded Streaming Windows

The schedule's broadcast split and added streaming inventory show networks are treating preseason games as subscription-driving content.

Overview

  • Major outlets published the complete three-week preseason calendar on Tuesday, Aug. 4, confirming games from Aug. 13–29 and the Hall of Fame Game on Aug. 6.
  • Each national TV partner — NBC, Fox, CBS, ESPN and Prime Video — holds one exclusive preseason window while most other matchups air on participating teams' local stations.
  • ESPN expanded live preseason coverage on its ESPN App/Unlimited plan and will carry a national exclusive on Aug. 20, while NFL Network will simulcast many games and retain centralized replay control.
  • Multiple streamers will carry wide swaths of the slate, with fubo acting as the primary aggregator noted for offering many games and a free trial, and Prime Video, Peacock and Paramount+ carrying select matchups.
  • On the field, teams will use the August games for player evaluation — tracking high-profile injury returns like Patrick Mahomes, rookie previews such as Raiders QB Fernando Mendoza, and late roster battles — and fans are advised to check local affiliate plans because some markets may replace national feeds.
