NFL Preseason Week 2 Kicks Off With 16 Games and National Broadcasts

Teams are cutting starter snaps and speeding rookie tryouts to finish evaluations before rosters are finalized.

Overview

  • Week 2 runs Aug. 20–23 and features a 16-game slate that continues the three-week preseason before final roster cuts and the Sept. 9 regular-season opener.
  • FOX will carry a national Seahawks at Titans game on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET that is also streamable on FOX One, and other national windows will air on ESPN and NFL Network.
  • All but three Week 2 matchups will be available on a national platform while the remaining games will air on participating teams' local broadcast affiliates.
  • Teams are using the compressed schedule to limit starter snaps because of injury risk and to give meaningful reps to rookies and backups as they sort position battles.
  • Streaming options highlighted for the week include fubo and the ESPN app, and the Panthers and Cardinals play a fourth preseason game this year because they appeared in the Aug. 6 Hall of Fame Game.
