NextBlock Invests $3 Million to Back Soda Labs’ Chain‑Agnostic Privacy Coprocessor

NextBlock’s funding is intended to accelerate Soda Bubble rollouts on major blockchains by financing validator growth to let institutions verify private on‑chain computations.

Overview

  • NextBlock has provided $3 million to fund Soda Labs’ seed round and support the company’s move from its gcEVM product toward a chain‑agnostic coprocessor called Soda Bubble.
  • Soda Bubble is designed to run developer-defined private computations for multiple blockchains without exposing underlying data to the public or to Soda Labs, and it includes a Bubble Validator Network to mathematically verify results.
  • Soda’s system uses garbled‑circuit multiparty computation (GC‑MPC) and standard cryptographic primitives such as AES and SHA256, and it is built to run on ordinary cloud CPUs rather than special hardware.
  • The company says its technology has processed more than 100 million transactions on the COTI mainnet and that its PriveX exchange handled over $20 billion in volume, but new Arbitrum benchmark results and some performance claims remain unpublished and unverified.
  • Soda plans to use the funding over the next 12 to 18 months to expand blockchain coverage, grow its validator network and sales team, and pursue pilots and integrations with banks, payment firms and tokenization platforms that need private, auditable on‑chain workflows.
