Overview

  • Gov. Kathy Hochul unveiled the finalized Sail4th 250 program on Sunday, June 28, confirming a weeklong schedule from July 3–8 that includes free public ship tours, sightseeing cruises and a flagship Parade of Sail.
  • Organizers say the parade will feature about 40 tall ships from roughly 40 nations sailing from the Verrazzano‑Narrows Bridge to the George Washington Bridge and will be led by the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Eagle.
  • Officials confirmed extensive military participation with more than 30 U.S. and allied naval vessels at anchor, roughly 20,000 sailors visiting the city and an international aerial review of about 200 aircraft led by the Blue Angels.
  • Security and maritime controls are in place, including five U.S. Coast Guard Marine Safety Information Bulletins covering July 1–9, designated safety zones, counter‑drone operations and public advisories on reservations and crowd management.
  • Organizers project about 6 million spectators and an estimated $2.85 billion regional economic impact, and city agencies have issued heat warnings and expanded transit and public‑health measures to manage crowds and safety.
