Overview
- The council announced the temporary schedule will run from Monday, July 13 to Friday, July 17 and collections will start earlier than usual during that period.
- Households are asked to put containers out by 5am on their scheduled collection day and properties that normally have very early lifts are asked to consider putting bins out the night before no earlier than 6pm.
- If a household’s bin remains uncollected by 2pm residents should report it by midday on the next working day, and no report is needed if an entire street was missed because crews will aim to return.
- New Forest District Council says crews are being monitored throughout rounds and it will post live updates about missed or changed collections on its missed-collections webpage and social channels.
- The move is time-limited and driven by worker safety during the heat wave, but officials warn higher temperatures could still slow rounds and they thank residents for patience while services are adjusted.
