Netto Rolls Out Paid Night Parking at 150 Stores

The move signals a push to monetize underused supermarket lots to ease parking pressure without adding new pavement.

Overview

  • Netto, which launched the service on Wednesday, is offering paid parking from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. at about 150 locations across major German cities.
  • Drivers book digitally on site via QR code or through partner apps run by operators such as Park & Control (an APCOA unit), Wemolo, Loyal Parking, and Parken & Management.
  • Roughly one in five spaces per store is released for evening use, and the company plans to widen the program in the coming months and apply it to new store openings.
  • Netto has not published uniform prices, while reporting on rival pilots cites about €3 per night, €12 per week, or €30 per month as typical examples.
  • Enforcement relies on license plate monitoring with contract penalties for overstays, and an early Bremen test saw little interest at one site.
