Nets Rookie Nolan Traoré’s February Surge Earns Rookie of the Month Recognition

League recognition follows a month with 67 assists, the top rookie mark in the East.

Overview

  • In February, Traoré totaled 67 assists, 30 more than any other Eastern Conference rookie and 13th most in the NBA for the month.
  • His February averages rose to 12.2 points, 5.6 assists and 2.3 rebounds from 7.8, 3.7 and 1.5 in January, and he accounted for 21.4% of Brooklyn’s team assists.
  • He recorded 15 steals in February, leading Eastern Conference rookies and ranking third among all rookies.
  • Standout outings included 13 points and 13 assists on Feb. 9 vs. the Bulls, 21 points and seven assists on Feb. 5 at the Magic, and 20 points and eight assists on Feb. 11 vs. the Pacers.
  • He received honorable mention in Rookie of the Month voting as Victor Wembanyama and coach Jordi Fernández praised his growth, citing progress after a G League stint and continued work with assistant Corey Vinson.
