Overview
- Netflix announced at an APAC product event on June 10 that it will roll out a redesigned mobile homepage and the vertical, mobile-only Clips feed to members in Japan and South Korea in July.
- Clips is a short-form, TikTok-style vertical feed that lets users preview shows, save titles to their lists, share moments, or jump directly into full episodes to speed discovery.
- The company will add six KPop Demon Hunters–themed mini games to Netflix Playground on June 20 and aims to grow Playground to about 25 IP-based children’s experiences by year-end.
- Netflix has also expanded its broader mobile games library to more than 120 titles available to subscribers, underscoring its strategy to become a multi-format entertainment platform rather than only a streamer.
- Markets reacted cautiously to the June 10 announcements with a modest dip in Netflix shares as investors assessed whether the engagement gains from Clips and games will translate into near-term monetization.
