- On Wednesday, August 12, 2026 Netflix announced that Charlie vs. the Chocolate Factory will open wide in theaters on November 5, 2027 and begin streaming on December 22, 2027.
- The studio confirmed a 47-day exclusive theatrical window and said Sony Pictures Entertainment will handle international theatrical distribution for the film.
- Directors Jared Stern and Elaine Bogan lead the project with producers Aron Warner and Timothy Yoo and Taika Waititi serving as an executive producer while Waititi also voices Willy Wonka.
