- Netflix opened a five-floor animation facility at 110 East 5th Avenue in Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant that spans about 110,000 to 111,000 square feet and employs more than 450 people.
- The studio was designed for feature animation and uses advanced production technology with collaboration spaces and an auditorium-style screening theatre.
- Netflix says the interior buildout contributed over $50 million to British Columbia’s GDP, and it projects about $100 million per year from ongoing operations.
- The Vancouver team is producing the feature Steps, a Cinderella reimagining, with Amanda Seyfried voicing Cinderella and Ali Wong and Stephanie Tsu in the cast.
- The site replaces the former Animal Logic team that Netflix acquired in 2022 and joins NAS locations in California and Sydney, with plans to add Eyeline VFX staff for a combined production hub.
