Overview
- Netflix has officially confirmed production of the Korean-language series First Doctor and announced its five principal leads: Jung Ryeo Won, Ha Yun Kyung, Kim Moo Yul, Baek Hyun Jin, and Kim Jong Soo.
- Jung Ryeo Won will play Heo Ji Wan, a blunt, highly skilled pediatric surgery professor who returns to Yeonhwa University Hospital to fight to save the threatened pediatric department.
- Ha Yun Kyung will play Ki Eun Gyeol, a bold third-year resident who forms a tense rivalry and mentor-mentee chemistry with Heo Ji Wan.
- Kim Moo Yul is cast as Bae Su Wol, an anesthesiology professor, marking his third collaboration with director Hong Jong Chan after prior Netflix projects.
- Filming is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2026, while episode count, full cast list, shooting locations, and an official premiere date have not yet been announced.
