Overview
- Netflix launched an official Sesame Street collection on Monday that includes more than 100 library episodes and specials plus the latest Season 56, with 20 additional library episodes slated to arrive next month.
- The streamer announced an untitled Gabby’s Dollhouse competition series hosted by Laila Lockhart Kraner that will pit young baker-and-maker duos in crafting and baking challenges, while Gabby’s Dollhouse will continue with a 14th season, four holiday episodes later this year, and new episodes in 2027.
- Netflix confirmed fixed release dates for other preschool shows, with Dr. Seuss’s Red Fish, Blue Fish Season 3 arriving Aug. 10 and Sheriff Labrador Season 2 on Aug. 31, and it also began streaming the Bedtime Stories with Netflix Jr. podcast and added new games to the Netflix Playground app.
- The company framed the expansion as a retention strategy, noting that kids programming made up nearly 22% of viewing in 2025 and that a family title has appeared in Netflix’s Global Top 10 every week for four years.
- The push pairs streaming content with broader touchpoints — character meet-and-greets at Netflix House locations, a Manhattan hopscotch activation and new in-app games — and builds on Netflix’s prior deal to secure worldwide premiere rights to new Sesame Street episodes after Warner Bros. Discovery stepped back from funding the show.
