Netflix Dates Theatrical Preview and April 23 Premiere for Stranger Things: Tales From ’85

The one-day preview reflects Netflix’s tactic of using theaters to boost streaming launches for its biggest franchises.

The first two episodes will play back-to-back in 34 AMC U.S. theaters plus New York’s Paris Theater and Netflix House Philadelphia on April 18, with a combined runtime of about 55 minutes.
Tickets are on sale at AMCTheatres.com, and U.S. moviegoers can receive an exclusive collectible while supplies last.
The full season debuts on Netflix on April 23, five days after the preview, positioning the story between Seasons 2 and 3 in the winter of 1985.
The series brings back Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Max with an all-new voice cast that includes Brooklyn Davey Norstedt, Luca Diaz, Braxton Quinney, Elisha “EJ” Williams, Benjamin Plessala, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport, Jeremy Jordan, and Brett Gipson.
Framed by showrunner Eric Robles as a “lost season” focused on saving the town rather than the world, the project joins a broader expansion that also features a filmed Broadway production and an untitled live-action spinoff.
