Netflix Adds TF1 Channels and 35,000 Hours of TF1+ Content to Its French App

The deal keeps Netflix subscription prices unchanged while inserting short adverts before TF1 programmes on the ad-free tier and signals a new broadcast-to-streaming distribution model.

Overview

  • Netflix activated the partnership for French subscribers on Friday, June 19, 2026, placing a dedicated TF1+ rail on users’ homepages to launch live channels and on-demand shows from the TF1 group.
  • About 35,000 hours of TF1-made fiction and entertainment have been added to Netflix France, joining existing Netflix originals and giving TF1 programmes direct discoverability inside the app.
  • All TF1 group channels (TF1, TMC, TFX, TF1 Séries Films and LCI) will stream live on Netflix, including major sports broadcasts for which TF1 holds rights such as Nations Championship rugby and France national team matches.
  • Netflix will not raise subscription prices for access to TF1 content, but viewers on Netflix’s ad-free tier will see brief adverts before launching TF1 programmes; full commercial terms were not disclosed.
  • Company leaders describe the agreement as a first for Netflix with a national broadcaster and the move could reshape how French viewers access live TV, push other broadcasters to seek similar deals, and prompt new rights or regulatory discussions in Europe.
