NEC Releases Rs 56.22 Crore in November, Completes Key Nagaland Works

- The council disbursed Rs 56.22 crore across the Northeast in November, including Rs 4.78 crore for programmes in Nagaland.
- Nagaland reported completion of the Rain Water Reservoir for Fire Safety and Skill Training Centre project, adding reservoirs at Dimapur and Khuzama and facilities at the Chiechama training hub.
- The Bamboo-Based Craft Concentration Centre at Sovima in Chümoukedima, built at a cost of Rs 4.48 crore, was completed to bolster bamboo livelihoods and traditional craft skills.
- In addition to state releases, Rs 14.89 crore went to central agencies and cultural bodies to support festivals, seminars, workshops and academic activities across the region.
- NEC said funding spans infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, culture, education, skills and livelihood promotion with a focus on timely execution and close coordination with state governments.
