Overview
- The National Emergencies Operation Centre issued a landslide alert covering June 2–6 and warned the highest risk window runs June 2–5 for several Khyber Pakhtunkhwa districts.
- NDMA named Chitral, Upper and Lower Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad and Haripur as most vulnerable and singled out the Lowari Tunnel, Chitral–Dir Road, Swat routes, Karakoram Highway and Naran–Kaghan road as at high risk of blockages.
- Reports between June 2 and 3 said storms and collapsing structures in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa produced multiple incidents, including a house collapse in Shangla that killed six children and left other people injured, with local Rescue 1122 teams conducting recoveries.
- Authorities have issued advance alerts to federal, provincial and district agencies, ordered emergency teams on standby, urged use of the Pak NDMA Disaster Alert app and said NEOC is monitoring potential Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOFs) as upper-catchment flows rise.
