NCRTC Submits Draft for GurugramNoida Rapid Rail as Haryana Pushes Underground Alignment

The draft sets out a six-station link bypassing Delhi, with NCRTC gathering feedback.

Overview

  • The draft DPR proposes a corridor from IFFCO Chowk to Surajpur via Sector 54, Faridabad’s Bata Chowk, the Sector 85–86 junction, and Noida Sectors 142/168 at an estimated cost of about ₹15,000 crore.
  • NCRTC has suggested an elevated alignment, while Haryana officials want underground routing within Gurugram due to land constraints and to protect future road and mobility upgrades.
  • Preliminary estimates indicate travel times of roughly 22 minutes from IFFCO Chowk to Faridabad and about 38 minutes to Noida, subject to final design choices.
  • If implemented, the line would become the third RRTS through Haryana, joining the Delhi–Gurgaon–ManesarBawal and DelhiPanipatKarnal corridors that have Public Investment Board clearance and await Cabinet approval.
  • In a separate step of the wider program, NCRTC invited bids to shift electrical utilities between Kashmiri Gate and Bhalswa on the DelhiPanipatKarnal corridor, indicating enabling works are progressing.
