NCM Forecasts 46°C Peak in Fujairah During Eid Al Adha

The peak falls during the Eid Al Adha public holiday, increasing heat exposure for people who travel or spend time outdoors.

Overview

  • The National Centre of Meteorology's latest five-day bulletin predicts temperatures will rise into the holiday week with a forecasted peak of 46°C in Fujairah on Tuesday.
  • Daytime highs will be widespread across the UAE with around 40°C in Abu Dhabi, about 37–38°C in Dubai, and highs near 42°C in Ras Al Khaimah and Al Ain while coastal Al Ruwais may see lows near 20°C.
  • Strong gusty winds of roughly 35–40 kph are expected to produce dusty conditions on land and cause seas to shift from slight to moderate, with the Arabian Gulf becoming rough at times by late night.
  • The timing overlaps with public sector holidays (May 25–29) and most private-sector leave (starting May 26), which will increase outdoor activity and raise risks of heat-related illness.
  • The forecast builds on a recent warming trend that has produced frequent 40°C-plus days and last May's record heat, prompting public health advice to hydrate, avoid prolonged sun exposure, and never leave children or pets in vehicles.
