Overview
- NCB’s Mumbai unit, which intercepted a West Bengal-registered truck on Saturday, found 210 kg of cannabis hidden under metal sheets in Nagpur and arrested four suspects including P. Kumar and R. Kumar.
- Questioning indicated the consignment came from the Sambalpur region of Odisha and was bound for retail sale across Maharashtra cities such as Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Nagpur, Amravati and Akola.
- Separately, Delhi’s Anti-Narcotics Squad, working a case registered on April 2, arrested six people and recovered about 58.696 kg of cannabis and Rs 5.31 lakh in cash linked to an interstate supply line.
- Delhi investigators said the network sourced from Bihar, stored bulk consignments in rented homes, and repackaged the drug into small pouches for sale in dense neighborhoods.
- Hindustan Times reports the Nagpur case ties to a three-month probe and suggests the syndicate moved 200–500 kg consignments weekly from Odisha, as agencies now map the wider chain for more arrests.
