NBA THE RUN Sets Cross-Play Open Beta for May 30

Play by Play Studios is staging a one-day public test to validate core 3v3 arcade systems and player behavior before the game's June 9 launch.

Overview

  • Play by Play Studios announced on Thursday that a cross-play open beta for NBA THE RUN will run Saturday, May 30 from 10:00 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET to 6:00 p.m. PT / 9:00 p.m. ET on PS5, Xbox Series and PC via Steam.
  • The beta exposes two modes: Knockout Squads, where you control one player on a three-person team, and Knockout Solos, where a single user controls all three team members.
  • Test players will have access to a large playable roster drawn from the game's 30-plus NBA stars, including Giannis Antetokounmpo, Stephen Curry, LeBron James and Luka Dončić, plus at least one fictional street legend.
  • The build will let users try the game's streetball systems such as four advanced dunks, taunts and style moves like crossovers, Shammgods and Slip ’N Slides and uses rollback netcode to keep online play responsive.
  • The open beta is the final big public trial before the full release on June 9, when the game arrives in standard ($29.99) and deluxe ($39.99) editions that include rookie-variant characters and in-game currency for cosmetic progression.
