Overview
- A ribbon-cutting Thursday officially opened the renovated Denver Heights Community Center at 300 Porter St., with more than 200 people attending the public unveiling.
- Renovation work included a refurbished gym and multipurpose room, new court flooring, a scoreboard and backboards, ceiling and roof repairs, fresh paint and upgraded wall tile.
- Technology and gaming equipment were added to support interactive activities and the center will host Jr. NBA and Jr. WNBA clinics for local children.
- The NBA Foundation and the NBPA Foundation committed a $50,000 grant to the San Antonio Parks Foundation to fund ongoing youth programming at the site.
- League executives, Spurs players and city officials encouraged community use of the center and said the project is part of the NBA Cares Finals Legacy effort to leave lasting resources in host neighborhoods.
