Navi Mumbai International Airport to Begin Flights Dec. 25 With 30 Movements on Day One

The new hub opens under a CIDCOAdani partnership to relieve pressure on Mumbai’s main airport through a phased rollout.

Overview

  • Operations start with 30 scheduled air traffic movements, led by IndiGo flight 6E460 arriving from Bengaluru at 8:00 a.m. and the first departure, IndiGo 6E882 to Hyderabad, at 8:40 a.m.
  • IndiGo, Akasa Air, Air India Express and Star Air will run initial domestic services, with night operations targeted for late January and international flights expected after systems stabilise in early 2026.
  • The airport holds a DGCA aerodrome licence and is delivered via a PPP with CIDCO holding 26% and Adani Airport Holdings 74%, launching Phase 1 capacity of about 20 million passengers with expansion planned toward 90 million and cargo ramp-up starting with belly freight anchored by FedEx.
  • Passenger experience features include Digi Yatra-enabled touchpoints, free high-speed Wi‑Fi with real-time updates via the Adani OneApp, and a fully automated baggage system with tracking notifications.
  • Access on day one relies mainly on road links such as Atal Setu and Palm Beach Road, with limited suburban rail via Targhar and initial NMMT shuttle buses, as broader multimodal connectivity is scaled up.
